October 2019Woodpecker LodgeWe had a lovely stay. Clean, well-equipped, modern lodge. Welcome pack of wine and chocolates on arrival was a nice touch. Good location from which to explore the area. Few things to note:- Kettle had dodgy connection on base. Needed replacing. - Mattresses on single beds were far too soft. - Woodpecker Lodge's proximity to the road should be mentioned in description. Road noise noticeable but not too intrusive. Light sleepers may want to book lodge further away from the entrance to the park.

Outstanding! A small site with 6 cabins and ideal for a quiet break away, we were lucky enough to rent 4 of the cabins for a big family getaway and it seemed like we had the place completely to ourselves. Really close to local shops, supermarket and pubs/restaurants, not to mention quick and easy access to local tourist sites. The lodges are gorgeous, cozy and comfortable- even in the freezing temperatures we've had. The owner is patient and provides great customer service, making recommendations and providing help: one small problem with lighting was quickly and efficiently resolved in a friendly fashion and I really can't fault the site or the support we received. Lovely place!
