Would have been great as a camping however, paying for a pet friendly caravan in order to take my elderly mum on holiday, I feel a bit cheated to be honest. Was very basic van on surface clean but when looked closer could have done better. The pool was closed which was of the selling points initially and the lack of dog walk on site for the dog let it down for me.
We stayed here and camped on the field, very quiet and lots of room for the children to play. We got take away food from the restaurant and eat in 1 night, food was great!!The toilets are showers were kept clean and to a good standard also where you wash up your bowels etc lots of space and about 5 sinks do plenty of people can use at once. The pool is a decent size and you are the life guards for your own children. The camp site is close to lots of great places to visit like wookey hole!!They have a little shop to go in there also have a park and a woodland trail for the children. All in all a brilliant stay here.
A nice enough campsite. The dinosaur trail could do with a little maintenance as it’s for kids and most of the dinosaurs are broken and there are stinging nettles poking out all along the sides. We were a little confused when it came to the pool as after I had already booked, in our confirmation email it said that the pool was shut and we were so disappointed, considering the website hadn’t mentioned this at all and across our holiday we were staying at three different sites and this one was the most expensive one by a good £15! At this point we were ready to complain and we went most of the first day without going near the pool. Then we found out that it had in fact reopened and went down there. So a bit confusing. Great pool although some staff supervision or number monitoring would have been ideal as it was FULL of older children running around like mad without their parents and splashing and jumping everywhere and we took our young toddler in which was a bit of a challenge with the sheer number of kids. We’re not worried about social distracting at all, just general pool safety. Our pitch was good, we liked the privacy and the ease of electric hookup and the facilities were well maintained. Also pleased that the washing up section was under a shelter! One last thing to note was the restaurant. We never went in as we are a vegan family and there is nothing on the menu suitable for vegans at all.... and there was a dead wasp stuck to their menu on the window anyway so we decided we were okay with not asking about vegan food...Staff were nice enough, waited absolutely ages in the shop to get served a bottle of water and an ice lolly but do understand that I think they have a small team.Beautiful views and the wooden cabins look lovely!
Very nice site, pretty hanging baskets around reception and toilet blocks. Very friendly helpful staff. Nice pitches, we had one with water and electricity so made life easy. Toilets and showers exceptionally clean, plus showers have normal taps so you can enjoy a lovely warm shower without repeatedly pushing the water button!Extremely handy for buses to Wells, Cheddar and Weston Super Mare, as stop immediately outside camp site. The Lodge , the camp club/ pub does pretty nice basic pub grub but only open Friday and Saturdays at the moment. Sadly pool not open at moment, which would have been a welcome relief from the recent very hot weatherAll together a very pleasant stay
This was our first ever location for camping and I am glad I choose them. Despite some down comments the facilities were as clean as you can get where they are shared with a crowd( if people were a bit more considerate they will had been cleaner), as anybody can flush after themselves or wipe the seat if they missed the hole. But disregarding this, the views are great, pitch size was XL and I can tell you that suited us to the point. Nothing to complain. The pool was open although from previous reviews saying that was closed didn't expected it to be open. Kids had fun, we enjoyed it and will definitely return.
