Got to the main gate and pressed the button to speak to reception. It turns out there is no reception; although a sales office is currently under construction. By a stroke of luck, a lady appeared with her dog and admitted us into the park. The site itself was rather lovely but was like a ghost town. Eventually found the site 'manager' and he pointed us to our caravan. It was nowhere near as luxurious as advertised in Hays holiday shop and - without being too pedantic - we drafted a snag list longer than most kids Christmas gift list.Amongst other things, our caravan was unkempt and a lot smaller than we expected. To top it all off, the site was also subject to a lot of noisy remedial work. Isn't that what the off-season is for surely?I wouldn't say l disliked the place but l think it would have a better chance to thrive if it was managed well by a people who took an intetest in their customers. On a more positive note, the hot tub was superb and the surrounding countryside beautiful.
We had a lovely family vacation here, the lodge that we stayed in was well equipped and the whole area was very scenic.
We spent 3 nights at Applegrove in a rented lodge with a hot tub. The site itself is secluded and very quiet, just what we wanted. The lodge was privately owned and was immaculate. The owner had thought of and provided everything we needed. The hot tub was exceptional - the icing on the cake.
A quiet, peaceful, relaxing place to spend a few days or a few weeks. Ideally situated between Scarborough and Bridlington. The hot tub was the icing on the cake for us. The wild life is pretty cool too with a few owls putting on a show after dark.
Stayed for a week and woke up everyday due to work being carried out on the site, one day it was 4.45am 10m from our caravan, loud machinery and workmen shouting at the top of their voices, that was the first morning...Later that day we were unable to leave the park and enjoy the sights for over 2 hours due to the entrance veing blocked, no one explained anything, i had to ask the workers what was going on and was spoke to rudely.Next morning was woke up at 8am, keep in mind this is a holiday park, to the grounds keeper doing laps on his mower around our caravan. But on the plus side the hot tubs were of high standard but I'd advise going somewhere else cause it was not a holiday setting.
